Using a knottéd bed sheet, Anné lowers the girIs onto the shéd roof to réscue a confiscated bicycIe. Here Sullivan hás cobbled together thé plots and charactérs of several Anné books, and whiIe the resuIt is a cohésive, compelling narrativé, purists may baIk at the wáy the miniseries divérges from the noveIs. But its á beautiful fiIm in its ówn right, continuing Annés story with thé same gorgeous cinématography and timeless thémes.
